Insurus and Equality Health Team Up to Help Provide Access to Quality Care
Equality Health’s mission is to provide access to quality care for all people, including the elderly population and our most vulnerable individuals. Helping people find the right Medicare plan to fit their unique needs is one way that Equality Health is fulfilling their mission.
According to Medicare.gov, Medicare is a federal healthcare program for individuals 65 years or older, certain younger people with disabilities and people with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD).
People on Medicare often do not have access to the resources needed to live a healthy life. A healthy life not only means physical health, but it also refers to social factors that go beyond a medical diagnosis and strongly influences a person’s quality of life. This includes access to food, transportation, mental health resources and community support.
A Healthy Alliance
To help advance their mission, Equality Health has recently partnered with Insurus Medicare Solutions, a trusted Medicare-focused insurance agency that specializes in helping people with Medicare or Medi-Cal or both, find the plan that best suits their needs.
“We are going to work together with Insurus Medicare Solutions to assist elderly adults from our Hispanic community and make sure they have the correct medical coverage and access to healthcare that is culturally sensitive, professional and competent,” said Tomás León, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Strategy for Equality Health. “This association permits people to get the most out of their Medicare benefits and have access to healthcare that is culturally sensible and focused on their health care needs.”
“We know what they are capable of (Insurus Medicare Solutions),” León continued, speaking about the importance of this alliance, “and we know about their passion to serve their clients the right way. Also, they speak the language, they understand Hispanic culture and they always go above and beyond for those they have the opportunity to serve. For us, that’s really important.”
Beyond an Insurance Agency
For Cristina Ramírez, owner of Insurus Medicare Solutions, the most important part of her job is the opportunity to serve people. Ramírez prefers to compare her work to that of a social worker because she sees each client as an opportunity to serve and help better his or her life.
Ramírez has more than 16 years of experience in the insurance business and she is confident that Insurus can offer solutions to help individuals achieve a healthy lifestyle. This is especially important for elderly adults who require guidance when signing-up for their Medicare program.
“Our objective is to help people as best as we can so they can have access to all services available within their medical plan,” said Ramírez. “With our association with Equality Health, we will be able to serve their members and help them with the process of signing-up for Medicare.”
Time to Act Now
The sign-up period for Medicare, called Open Enrollment, started October 15 and ends December 7. This timeframe also applies for those already on Medicare that wish to make changes to their existing coverage. During this period it is important that beneficiaries of Medicare, along with their health insurance agent, review their plan to select the best coverage for their present needs.
“It is important to make the correct selection of coverage,” said Ramírez. “A lot of times, people receive a great deal of information and it’s very difficult to understand it all. We are here to help you make the best choice and continue to provide service to our clients.”
