For over three decades Lawrence has served as a senior managed care executive with the largest health systems in the United States, including Ascension Health, Advocate Aurora Health, and HCA Healthcare. Over the course of his career, he has focused on various risk-based financial reimbursement mechanisms as well as building Value-Based Care (VBC) models, Clinically Integrated Networks (CIN), and Accountable Care Organizations (ACO). Before joining Equality Health, he led the largest super clinically integrated network in the Midwest and the 6th largest Track 1 ACO in the United States.
Lawrence is a results-oriented senior leader with a proven track record of consistently exceeding financial results while achieving superior performance in quality measures and patient experience. He is a collaborative engaging builder of high performing growth-oriented teams that advance the organization’s objectives. Lawrence is passionate about leveraging data and technology to improve state-wide health outcomes He is recognized for his ability to create and cultivate strategic partnerships with several stakeholders including the local community, health plans, and physicians.
Most recently, Lawrence served as Regional Vice President of Managed Care at Envision Healthcare, where he was responsible for both hospital-based physician organizations and ambulatory surgical centers in the Northeast portion of the United States encompassing over thirteen states from Maine to West Virginia. In his role at Equality Health, he leads the Tennessee market team in delivering outcome-based solutions that improve the health of Tennesseans in East, Middle, and West Tennessee.
Lawrence has both a B.A. in Pre-Law as well as an MBA with a focus in finance and economics from Northern Illinois University. Lawrence also has an M.A. in Public Policy Analysis from The University of Chicago, and a will complete his PhD in Public Policy from Northwestern University this fall.
