Dr. Sally Szumlas serves as the Senior Vice President of Practice Performance. A clinically trained critical care nurse, she brings over 30 years’ experience leading health care operations, clinical quality, performance improvement and population health innovations across the acute care, primary care, home, and community-based settings. Sally brings a strong clinical acumen and common-sense approach to improving healthcare through the design and implementation of delivery models proven to achieve outcomes.
Sally leads the Practice Performance and Practice Transformation teams at Equality Health. Sally and her team serve through hands-on provider engagement, at-the-elbow systems support, and best practice education to improve operations, increase access and quality of care delivery, and reduce unnecessary hospitalization.
Sally is deeply passionate about addressing health disparities and access to healthcare for the vulnerable. Prior to joining Equality Health, Sally served as a managed care executive in national and market-based roles specializing in Medicaid and Medicare Advantage programs. She has successfully delivered high performing provider networks in multiple states using data analytics, technology, vendor innovations and community-based partnerships.
