Chandra Merica is an accomplished leader in health care strategies with over 20 years of progressive experience in multiple aspects of health care and health care software including computer programming, cost accounting, contract modeling, contract negotiation, care management/utilization review, quality and provider performance, government programs such as Pioneer, MSSP, QECP, NGACO, and GPRO (PQRS), software implementation, product development, client support, sales, operations, claims processing, data architecture, data governance, project management and process improvement. Chandra’s passion is turning big data into meaningful and actionable stories to develop and support the organization’s strategic directions.
Chandra currently serves as the Vice President of Analytics at Equality Health, a company committed to improving care delivery for disparate populations through culturally-sensitive programs that improve access, quality, and patient trust. Her focus at Equality Health is implementing and developing the data and analytics to support and drive the business goals.
Previously she worked as the Director of Analytics and Performance at Arizona Care Network where she automated many data processes, collaborated with IT to build a secure data warehouse, built numerous actionable reports, jointly worked with vendors to implement and customize software for various departments including care management, developed a data science department and oversaw the quality programs.
Formerly she developed her career in many different areas of health care including serving as an Account Director at Aetna supporting many health care clients with analysis, training and implementation of Aetna’s Health Data Management Solutions software for population health and financial reporting. At Banner Health and Banner Health Network, one of the largest non-profit health care systems in the country, she was instrumental in building and developing a data team to successfully support analytics. Her team, collaborating with other key teams, implemented data processes and analyzed data which allowed Banner to be one of best performing ACO’s in the CMS Pioneer program.
Chandra enjoys the many outdoor activities available in beautiful Arizona and she actively supports her favorite organizations including Save the Children, Friends of the Library, Arizona Music Educators Association, Teen Challenge, Arizona Adopt a Greyhound, and Fountain Hills Sister Cities.
